Endodontic treatment, often called root canal therapy, is performed to rescue a seriously harmed tooth.
When a tooth is cracked or decayed, it can attract harmful bacteria, leading to an infection. If not addressed, this infection can reach the inner part of the tooth and its root, potentially causing the loss of bone, gums, and the tooth itself.
Signs of an infected or damaged tooth include tooth pain, sensitive gums, facial swelling, headaches, and discomfort when chewing or biting. A root canal procedure can alleviate the pain and salvage a tooth that might otherwise need to be removed.

A root canal treatment is quite simple and can be completed in one or two visits, possibly more if necessary.
Your dentist will begin by numbing the tooth to ensure the procedure is painless. We use specialized tools like the Apex locator and Endomotor for precision and predictability, along with [Rubber Dam] for isolation.
The process involves removing the infected or irritated pulp from inside the tooth, thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting the root canals, and sealing them. Afterward, a temporary filling is placed, and we’ll schedule a follow-up appointment for your permanent crown.
“What Occurs After Root Canal Treatment?”
After your root canal, you’ll probably have numbness for about two to four hours. Many patients can go back to school or work right after their appointment. We might suggest a checkup to check how well you’re healing and if the treatment was successful.
As the numbness fades, you might have slight discomfort for a few days. Usually, over-the-counter pain relief can help. If you have ongoing pain or swelling that lasts more than three days, please don’t hesitate to contact us for assistance.
